The Summer Palace is a large-scale royal garden and the best-preserved and largest royal garden in China, as well as being listed as a World Heritage Site. The Summer Palace consists of two main parts, Wanshoushan and Kunming Lake, and covers an area of more than 290 hectares (about 2.97 square kilometers)
The Summer Palace was built in 1750 , which was burned down by the British and French Allied Forces in 1860, and then rebuilt by Empress Dowager Cixi in 1888 and renamed as the Summer Palace. The Summer Palace not only carries rich history and culture, but also integrates the essence of garden art from the north and the south, such as the spirit of Jiangnan gardens and the majesty of northern gardens complement each other here.
